How did it come to this?

How did I betray you?

All I want is to see you again.

We were so close,

but now a vast chasm between us.

You’ve found others to call friend.

and I but a fading memory.

I wish I didn’t love you

in the way I do.

I fear I was too intense,

and it drove you away.

Now all I want

is to have back

the one friend

who made me smile,

when you told me

you loved me too.

Now I sit in the dark,

alone and forgotten,

and I cry.
