Mother's Day
Broken glass all around,
fragments scattered,
sadness abounding,
Grief stirring.
May comfort find you,
may love lead you,
may your spirit find
its way to Heaven.
Could I find the words,
or the musical sounds,
to give you wings
and speed you to Heaven.
I would sing all the requiems,
every aria I could find,
all for your spirit’s comfort,
all the love I cannot give
to you as hugs now.
I would write you novels,
anthologies of poetry,
and sing you all the songs.
All for you dear mother,
on this day,
and all days,
may your soul,
be in the embrace
of love,
of Heaven.
