Revival
Wine and music,
laughs and smiles,
my guard lowers
I feel like myself again….
Free.
The moment of change,
where our lips crossed a boundary,
I took a breath and smelled you.
You smelled like fresh linens, or light cloth.
Your skin and my skin,
made a dance of passion,
fingers intertwined,
legs tangled up,
lips only parting to breathe,
I was lost in such wonder.
Even when I felt off,
you hung in there with me,
and told me you would stay with me,
and that was enough.
In the tender moments,
your finger traced my back,
I sighed, smiling,
I was special.
You helped me remember,
that I am special,
I have value,
And that there are decent people,
worth letting into my heart space.
Your friendship reminds me
to enjoy being alive.
And I feel alive again.
